Tony Vitucci – President
Tony has over 20 years of experience leading and managing IC design projects for industry leading global electronics companies. Most recently Tony led worldwide system design services organizations for design automation software providers Agility Design Solutions and Celoxica. In that role, Tony led engineering teams in the development of cutting edge designs for major customers including NASA, Intel, Motorola, Toshiba, Toyota, Lockheed, and Northrop.
In addition to engineering services sales and management, Tony is also an experienced design engineering entrepreneur. Tony founded Chicago-based design services firm Advanced Digital Designs, and built a successful business serving the Communications, Military, and Medical Instrumentation Markets. ADD was acquired in 2001 by a major manufacturer of set-top boxes.
Prior to ADD, Tony held positions in worldwide business development and consulting at Mentor Graphics overseeing chip design services projects and program management. Tony began his career as a chip designer with Motorola where he rose to manage the ASIC design engineering organization. Tony holds a BSEE degree from University of Illinois.
Thomas Rock – Vice President Engineering
Tom has over 30 years of experience in the ASIC and FPGA design and verification fields. Tom has wide ranging experience in all areas of the electronics industry including aerospace, medical, telecom, automotive and consumer electronics. As an expert in the DO-254 process flow, Tom brings many aspects of requirements-based design and first-time success to all his projects. In addition to expertise in ASIC/FPGA design and verification, Tom is also proficient in SystemVerilog, UVM and several programming languages such as C/C++, perl, python, and TCL.
Tom previously founded X-Tek Corporation in 1996, a design services and niche EDA software development firm. At X-Tek Tom successfully completed complex chip design projects for leading global electronics companies including Motorola, Lockheed, Xilinx, Rockwell-Collins, Learjet, L-3 and Parker Aerospace. He also developed and marketed the world renown VHDL/Verilog translation application X-HDL. Tom’s chip design background began with IC development positions at Delco Systems, Smiths Aerospace, Honeywell Commercial Flight Systems and Mentor Graphics Design Services. Tom holds an MSEE from Marquette University and a BSEE from Michigan Technological University. Tom holds patents and pending patents related to high-speed networking
Vincent Vitucci – Director Major Accounts
Vincent brings to Eclipse experience in management and marketing & sales in the Electronic Design Automation, Integrated Circuit, Consulting Services, Telecommunications and Information Technology software and hardware industries. Vincent has a high success rate in achieving sales goals and quotas. He is a creative and effective leader in implementing strategic corporate initiatives aligned with business plan initiatives for major global accounts for Mentor Graphics including Intel, GE Medical, Motorola and Lucent. Vincent is a design win driven executive that has helped close over $1 billion in a team based selling approach.
Jeff Jussel – Vice President of Marketing
With over 25 years of experience in the semiconductor and software industry, Jeff brings leadership and vision forging technology solutions that combine expert design services with best in class methodologies and cutting edge technologies. Building global technical marketing teams, Jeff has held senior technical marketing positions directing EDA product and services strategies at Mentor Graphics, Synopsys (Magma), Celoxica, and Premier Farnell. In these roles, Jeff established and guided successful solutions for a wide spectrum of design disciplines including high-level synthesis, functional verification, analog design, IC physical design and verification, PCB design, FPGA prototyping and embedded software development. Jeff successfully deployed these solutions to deliver successful products in partnership with companies such as Intel, TI, Freescale, Ericsson, and Toshiba.
An expert in both traditional and digital marketing practices, Jeff has developed and executed strategic marketing plans to introduce new semiconductor products to market, and to leverage design solutions to expand existing product growth. Jeff holds an MS in Electrical Engineering from UCLA and a BSEE from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
Tony Kobrinetz – Board Chairman
Tony Kobrinetz is currently serving as Vice President of Engineering at GatesAir, a subsidiary of the Gores Group, which produces very high power trasnmitters for TV and radio. Tony was previously a member of the executive team at PCTEL, a global leader in wireless products and solutions, where he served as VP of Technology & Operations. He also was Vice President at Motorola, where he was responsible for leading the corporation’s entrée into broadband wireless access with particular focus on the development of WiMAX products and services. Previously as the General Manager (and Business Founder) of the Canopy Business he successfully transitioned the wireless broadband technology incubator into a commercial business.
As a seasoned technology and business professional, Mr. Kobrinetz has devoted over 30 years to the shaping of mobile telephony, wireless local area networks, cellular telecommunications and telematics. He has held executive-level positions in product development, supply chain and system implementation of innovative communications equipment. Previously, Mr. Kobrinetz served as general manager for the Advanced Products Division that designed and manufactured the first digital infrastructure platform that Motorola produced for the Japanese cellular infrastructure market.
Mr. Kobrinetz holds numerous patents in communication components and systems. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Master of Business Administration from Loyola University in Chicago
Dan Ganousis – Board Director
Dan began his career as an IC designer, contributing to the design, test, and manufacturing of the Z80 while at Zilog, the CMOS 6502 at NCR Microelectronics, the MicroVax I/II at Digital Equipment Corporation, and seven ASICs and a 64-bit multiprocessing Sparc-compatible microprocessor while at Solbourne Computer.
Dan moved into executive management in 1992 in the EDA industry where he created, staffed, and managed a worldwide ASIC design consulting group at Mentor Graphics. Dan has held executive management positions in over 20 EDA and IP startups including VeriBest, ViewLogic, Innoveda, AccelChip, Arithmatica, Cyclos Semiconductor, Oasys Design Andes Technology, ASTC and others.
Dan’s technical background combined with his business development and executive management experience allows him to quickly and accurately assess customer’s needs. Dan has a 20 year successful track record with systems and semiconductor companies worldwide of creating ASIC/SoC/FPGA design consulting services proposals and managing their successful execution that efficiently solved customer’s issues.
Dan holds a BSEE from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Tom Smigelski – Board Director
Tom has over 30 years of experience in the electronics industry. His broad ranging skills include all aspects of analog, RF and digital IC design and manufacture. Tom also provides industry leadership to interface standards organization. In addition to IC design, Tom’s expertise extends to system design, algorithm modeling, product specification and architecture definition, embedded software, functional verification, and board development and system prototyping.
Tom previously founded Zurich Design Laboratories, a design services firm based in Chicago, where he successfully completed complex chip design projects for leading global electronics companies. Tom’s chip design background began with ASIC development positions at Northrop Grumman and AT&T. Tom holds an MSEE from University of Illinois and a BS Physics from IIT. Tom holds seven US patents.
